Hi everyone this is Janelle Oh clue of the Law Offices of Janelle oh clue mojo immigration welcome to my video today were gonna talk about credit cards and immigration filings, so some exciting news USCIS has announced that they are going to be accepting credit card payments for their 41 odd immigration petitions and applications this is big news people this is big news up until now you could use credit cards only to pay for the naturalization application and the green card renewal and that was also if you only did it online okay now USCIS has a credit card authorization form that is form G 1450 okay form G 1 4 5 0 write that down basically if you file any kind of immigration petition or application you can now pay with a credit card I know for a lot of people basically the cost of the filing fees the filing fees were cost prohibitive, and it is what kept people from filing different immigration petitions or even sometimes even kept permanent residence green card holders from applying for naturalization because the filing fees are expensive you know just to be able to do an immigrant petition to sponsor a family member you're looking at five hundred and thirty-five dollars for these kids who are applying for DACA that's almost five hundred dollars I think it was like four hundred ninety-five dollars the application for naturalization that's a ride around like seven hundred and twenty-five dollars adjustment of status a thousand two hundred and twenty-five dollars I mean that's a lot of money that's a lot of money, so this is a big deal that immigration is now accepting credit card payments so just remember when you do your immigration petition or the application you fill out the form G 1450 you put all your credit card information okay, and you send it in with the application, and they will basically charge your credit card USCIS promises to shred that form with your credit card information after they have charged your card okay so folks there you have it USCIS is accepting credit card payments so please you know get out there and file some cases okay of course you know I do recommend I strongly recommend though that you seek qualified counsel okay that you seek the advice of a qualified immigration lawyer before you proceed with your case because its not just kind of willy-nilly filing you want to make sure that you are eligible for the particular benefit that you're seeking or if you or someone who is sponsoring someone else for an immigration benefit that you understand the full obligations and in the process but still this is great news so there you go folks if you like this video please hit the subscribe button and also tune in leave some questions or comments down in the comment section below and if you ask a question I am happy to answer it in my next video okay thanks for tuning in bye
